Kazakh sunflower oil exports nearly tripled in the first half of the year
KHA/Nur-Sultan/August 20 -- In the first half of this year, Kazakhstan's exports of sunflower oil increased by 2.9 times, and margarine exports increased by 6.6 times. Among them, margarine exports increased from $8.9 million to $58.8 million, and sunflower oil exports increased from $60.9 million to $176.7 million.
In addition, flour exports increased by 82.5% to $334.2 million, and macaroni exports increased by 33.3% to $38.9 million.
In terms of raw material exports, Kazakhstan’s flaxseed exports increased by 81.5% to $201.1 million in total, dried legumes and vegetables increased by 80.8% to $36 million, wheat exports increased by 54.1% to $959.1 million, and sunflower seeds Exports rose 53.4 percent to $74.4 million. Barley exports fell 44.5% to $71.6 million and cotton exports fell 20.3% to $37.9 million.
In the first half of 2022, non-raw material exports of Kazakhstan’s agricultural products accounted for 42.4%, reaching $1.1 billion, and raw material exports accounted for 57.6%, reaching $1.5 billion.
Previously, it was reported that from January to May, Kazakhstan exported 115,000 tons of sunflower seeds, an increase of 13% over the same period last year. The main importers of sunflower seeds in Kazakhstan are Uzbekistan, China and Turkey.
